REVIEWS

Alimuom… relocates the Filipino farmer in a world combining Blade Runner and Mad Max: Fury Road; the state-of-the-art (for the Philippines anyway) digital effects were surprisingly impressive though not as impressive as the focus on seed banks and corporate monopolies – an uncommon subject in today’s SF movies.”

Noel Vera, Business World

Alimuom is a film that has a palpable scope that is not thwarted by economic constraints… eager to tackle many pertinent issues, from the troubling culture of Filipinos leaving their homes for better opportunities abroad, to the corrupt and incompetent government overreaching its powers… it is that very audacious ambition that becomes the film’s most impressive achievement.”
